TOMÁS VILA NOVA
Born in Switzerland, raised in Portugal, storytelling has always been my strong suit. After working in a lot of different projects, also involving a lot of different people, I have grown to be an individual capable of achieving great results during my career in this field.
After working in independent projects for the past three years that revolved around documentary ("Táscoela 24+2"), video-clips and experimental short-films ("Mulher Faca"), "THEATRO" would come to reach a lot of sucess, having it's premiere in Lisbon at Cinema São Jorge and being nomitated for a SOPHIA Student Award for Best Fiction Short-Film by the Portuguese Academy of Cinema.
Due to it's sucess, I have been able to collaborate on bigger projects. Currently, I've worked as a Film Editor for "Clave de Lua" and Director of Photography for "Palavras-Cruzadas", achieving sucess in the execution of the post-production process and being able to tell the stories intended by the directors of said films.
As an Editor, it is my priority to translate the raw material into a final product that "clicks" with the target-audience, adjusting my workflow between the intended view of the final product and the editing itself. I believe that communication is the key to achieve better results and to make your story truly special.
